WebJun 28, 2014 · After a little research I figured out that the hydrostatic transmission (Peerless 205-043D) was the problem. Even though I've read a lot telling me that it is not serviceable I figure what do I have to lose and opened it up. The driven part of the hydro drive had all the pistons broken and the ring was cracked. Webconstruction hazards. The drive may become mechanically damaged. This drive is a well designed 2 2885371 and carefully manufactured unit. It should be given the same attention accorded to any precision machine. The satisfactory operation of a pump and drive depends to a large extent upon proper installation.
